American Idol happens to be an annual American televised vocal range competition, which began the first season on July 11, 2002. Part of the Idol franchise, it based upon the reality program Pop Idol put together by British entertainment executive Simon Richer, which was first aired in 2001 throughout the uk. Due to its consistently-dominant reviews, American Idol has become maybe the one most-important program for US television.
